SUMMARY:NRU/NMHI Research Symposium on Opioid Addiction
DESCRIPTION:Time: (approximately 10:30am-4:00pm\, TBD with final agenda) \n\n\nWhere: Lister Hall\, Aurora Room\, University of Alberta \n\n\nThe opioid crisis in Alberta is a public health crisis. Solving the crisis will require a better understanding of the complexity of opioid addiction\, withdrawal\, and overdose that allows evidence-based decision making to improve treatment. This research symposium will host speakers from the University of Alberta\, University of Calgary\, and Alberta Health Services to present their research on opioid addiction and treatment. Presentations will include research across all pillars of inquiry including fundamental preclinical research\, clinical studies\, and research on health care for opioid addiction. All are welcome to what promises to be an interesting and exciting exploration of Albertan research into a health care crisis.
